We made a stop here based on a recommendation. It's by appointment but they accommodated us. Small selection of wines but they were all great!

Only because this place is a hidden gem and I don't want it to be spoiled! Was referred to Porter Bass by the B&B we were staying at. Amazing wine in a beautiful location. Did tasting in a bunker like room behind the main house. I loved how down to earth the owners are and loved getting to know them... More

What a wonderful tasting experience! A group of 10 friends and I were staying in a house on the Russian River and called up Porter Bass on a whim on the Friday before Labor Day to see if they had any appointments over the weekend. They said they could take us in 45 minutes! They do not have a tasting... More

It's worth a trip here for the wine and the scenery. Similar to some other reviews, perhaps we came on a bad day. We made a reservation and showed up on time. The employee who served us, Sue, was friendly, and as she was unable to answer some of our questions, she stated that the winemaker would be over soon... More

Perhaps we came on a bad day? We made reservations and arrived on time. As soon as we arrived, an owner came out with bottles of wine. This owner did not seem friendly and we felt we were rushed. We spent at the most 30 minutes and basically just were able to drink wine and walk into where they kept... More

Lovely owner poured us some great wine under a beautiful tree in her front yard. We had no appointment, but she was gracious and invited us to taste. I will go back!

Wanted a second place to visit after going to Korbel and found this vineyard. Drive up was beautiful in the mountains. Owner was great, told her family story and how the vineyard started, design of bottle with bee on it and wine was very good. Beautiful and peaceful vineyard.

The wine we tasted at Porter-Bass was incredible. We sat under a tree right on the edge of the vineyard and talked to one of the owners (who poured for us!). Meanwhile, in the background, her son (the winemaker) was on the tractor in the vines. It couldn't get more authentic than this. After we tasted here we went to... More

Really great wines & great place to visit. The vineyard & gardens are beautiful and the wine is great. Small, family-owned (second generation) vineyard & winemakers. Friendly, fun tasting. Sure they'd like you to buy, but they're not pushy about it. Very high quality but more medium price range. Happy to recommend.

This was recommended by our AirBNB host in Sebastopol. You need to phone ahead as it's a small family concern. We sat under the (walnut?) tree for the tasting. Simple treatment, and the Zinfandel was worth bringing a bottle home (not easy in these airline security days) - violet and lavender, and a grape that we do not get in... More
