Even my zoo-sophisticated granddaughters from San Francisco enjoy this zoo. I do too. The small scale keeps the walking manageable for young kids; the cougars, bear, tiger make for excitement. The last time we were there, the staff had display tables for learning, and even...More

I always like to take my grandkids to this small, but amazing zoo. They rescue these animals & the Vikings tests do such a great job. Be sure to visit during Christmas for all the zoo lights!

We love this little zoo. Our son used to volunteer here and he loved the animals. The staff really cares about the animals. Most are rescues and needed love and care. I wish they could get a lot more land so the animals would have...More

Folsom Zoo, although small is a delight to visit. Take an hour or so to wander through the zoo, you won't be disappointed. Be sure to ride the steam train, a historic small gauge train built in the 1950's and lovingly cared for to this...More

Great small zoo, especially for little ones who can't handle a big zoo. Really enjoyed the rescue stories of each animal, and understand why they are there. Don't forget to ride the train!

A good enough zoo for a city of the size of Folsom. It's not nice to keep animals in captivity. A small train is also available for kids to ride. However I find $6 fee sightly too much for a zoo of this size.

This zoo is mostly a sanctuary. It is populated by animals that can't be released into the wild. Some of them have been injured and some were confiscated as illegal pets. But what a fun excursion for the kids. You may see parrots, a golden...More

This zoo is 100% non breeding, with all animals being rescues. So, unfortunately, a lot of the animals have a sad story to the start of their life, but with hopefully a better ending. Easy pathways for all ages and benches along the way to...More

It's not an all day zoo affair but a neat place to visit. This zoo takes in a lot of injured or hobbled critters so they save a lot which I like and support. It's really not very big and can be just an hour...More
