A special treat. the train takes you up the mountain for an over an hour ride. The crew are informative and entertaining, and at the end of the ride you end up getting to experience “The Cathedral” which is a stunning natural redwood formation.

One of two train rides with this company finds us going to the top of Bear Mountain. This is a narrow gauge rail which is about all of the room that you have. After many switchbacks and actual switches we reached the top. A great...More

We just paid over 80 bucks as parents of a 3-year-old to take this train ride up Bear Mountain. Our kid loves trains, but there was not much to the tour beyond a long, meandering tour guide’s tale about the origins of the term “highball”...More

Beautiful steam train ride that runs through redwoods. Great day out for the kids. The train runs up and around a mountain which is an unusual but fun experience. There is also a normal train that runs down to Santa Cruz and back. This is...More

Fun, relaxing trip through the hills and trees. The stop at the top was well timed and give was a perfect to walk around and take in the view and trees. Enjoyed the opportunity to watch and ride behind the Shay type steam locomotive.

What a great experience in the Redwoods. When traveling south to Felton, ALLOW PLENTY OF TIME. The traffic on Hwy 17 is always jammed on the weekends. The walk from parking to the depot is a bit long, so be prepared. Parking is $10. If...More

Yes , I would call them as soon as possible to see what their policy is for refunds. They over sell the ride on occasion so the quicker they know, they can resell your ticket. 😊
