As a "local" I hesitate to advertise the existence of such a wonderful and peaceful place like this for fear it will be overrun by travelers, but it is a place which everyone should be allowed to enjoy. Be aware this is not a park or recreational area and certainly not a playground! Come prepared to enjoy quiet peace and... More

If you are travelling the spiritual journey of any faith, this place is a beautiful place to drop by. Very welcoming and beautiful. We enjoyed a fabulous evening of meditation in the community. The bookstore has a wide range of thought provoking books as well as a meditation garden. This garden is so incredibly beautiful and peaceful, and with such... More

These gardens are a treasure. If only visitors would realize the beauty and sacredness is disturbed when people speak loudly or worse, talk on cell phones. This is NOT the place to conduct business or have lengthy conversations . It IS a place for contemplation , reflection, being present.

Beautiful gardens with stunning ocean views. The gardens have koi ponds and babbling streams, lots of shaded spaces, and a wonderful way to decompress.

Neat little oasis. Serene, well-kept gardens, spectacular ocean views. Great place to relax and meander in tranquility. Free to public, but I believe they appreciate donations.

I have gone on several retreats at the Hermitage and can say they all were wonderful and grounding experiances. The gardens are amazing to visit if you cannot make the retreat. Be prepared to spend several minutes to hours in peaceful bliss!

The gardens are part of a retreat center, free and open to the public. It is small in size but rich in plant diversity. It has great views of the ocean and places where to sit and meditate, enjoy the view or simple rest for a few minutes. Take a break and head to the top of the hill at... More

Beautiful landscaping with lots of benches to sit and meditate. Spectacular views but same views at the city parks to the north. The landscaping, the variety of plants, the coi ponds, and the little ponds and streams drew my kids in.

A hidden oasis. A nice place to come wander or sit and enjoy. It is not a large garden, but there are paths and nooks to sit in. A great way to spend an hour or so, longer if you need it.
