Used to live in the North County area and have always loved Swami's Beach. We visit nearly every time we come back. Though parking is minimal, it is free, and I almost always manage to find a place. Its a long stair climb down to the beach, but well worth it. The beach is always uncrowded and is mostly a... More

Great surfing at Swami's. Several local shops to rent from. If you don't surf you can find a nice spot on the cliff and watch. Nice beach.

We liked the atmosphere of the beach town of Encinitas . Swami beach is where we got to watch fascinating Encinitas surfers. Apparently it is a previously unknown to me but very famous surfing spot. Places to have a picnic to watch surfers and stroll. It was a pleasant spot to stop during out exploration of San Diego area Pacific... More

What a beautiful spot on a glorious southern California day. Loved watching the surfers catching the waves. Very busy spot for tourists and locals alike.

We spent a few hours on several of our vacation days here - surfing and reading on the beach. Parking is near impossible at this popular spot so be prepared to walk a ways. We dropped off boys and surfboards in the lot and then found parking. Surfing for intermediate to advanced most days. Fun to see people hanging hammocks... More

It is worth the trip to Swami's from Anywhere because it isnone of the best views along the coast and one of the great surf spots of the world. The likes of Rob Machado surf here. Parking is a challenge but it is worth the wait even to stand up top and look down. It is quite a walk down... More

Anyone who knows the history of surfing in California knows Swami's is one of those famous breaks you have to visit... Easy beach break, locals mostly laid back... great spot to bring the family and enjoy a session.

Famous reef, great waves and wonderful walking beach. Take a walk down the steps and walk south to the state park and San Elijio Lagoon. You can then go back up onto the 101 and walk back to Swami Beach along the top of the cliff, nice walking path, beautiful views. next to the Coastal highway.
