Excellent surf beach and picnic spot!

Not a beach to learn to surf, has strong waves but quite a view! Has a good summer snack shack and decent bathrooms. Parking will be an issue after 8am.

Been here 2 weeks & down to the beach 8 times. We're retired travelers & walk a lot. View thru the golf course & park are great & easy to get 4-5 miles in. Beach is not dog friendly but great walking area next to beach. Walked it many times last year also.

We used to live near Salt Creek and our place enjoyed a trail that leads to this beach. We used to bike or run to the beach. The trail passes through the golf course and the monarch beach resort. You also go through multi-million dollar homes. This beach is not super crowded and we often a pod of dolphins here... More

We love to come to this beach when the weather gets warmer. We always make sure to arrive at the parking lot before 10 am to get a good spot. A little downhill walk on a paved path gets you to the park and beach area. The park has amazing postcard picture perfect ocean views from above and it is... More

This is a small beach area, maybe a one mile walk back and forth and that is why we liked it. It was right next to the Ritz property, just beautiful. There were lots of surfers to watch and it was nice to walk barefoot on the beach and listen to the crash of the waves. There is a park... More

This beach is very popular with the surfers and surfer chicks. Which also brings the tourists. The Ritz Carlton overlooks this beach making it a nice place to have brunch.

You'll find this beach between South Laguna and San Juan Capistrano, just north of the Dana Point harbor area. Best parking is above adjacent to the headlands. This beach is frequented by locals and those who are hiking the headlands trail. Because it bumps up against Dana Point, it doesn't have the sweeping views you might expect from a California... This beach is a must stop in the Southern OC area. The grassy hill is great for a picnic or small child area to play. The beach line has plenty of area for a great walk. The waves are always enjoyable to watch and with it being a local surf spot you'll enjoy seeing some great athletes do what they... More

We wanted to go to Thousand Steps Beach, but we didn't see the entrance for it, so we ended up at Salt Creek Beach Park. It's by the Ritz Carton, and there's a huge parking lot in front of the beach that charges $1 per hour. The beach was nice but not the prettiest. The fact that it was cloudy... More
