Mary Hartman has run this camp for over 25 years and it is top notch. My 7 year old granddaughter had a fantastic time, stood up on her surfboard for the first time and can't wait to return next year!

10+ years ago I came out to California for a visit from KS and was introduced to surfing. From the first moment I paddled out I was hooked. My hubby and I found Todd and Mary and decided to check their company out for lessons. They are outstanding in what they do! They are patient, knowledgable and professional. They work... More

Mary was amazing teacher! I had never surfed before and she was extremely professional, patient, and encouraging. Great place to learn!

This was recommended by our concierge at the hotel. Good value, great instructor (Todd) and perfect for beginners. My three kids (12, 14, 17) were up immediately and all said it was the best part of their trip. Todd was awesome - made them feel comfortable right away.

My daughter was scheduled for the surf camp. It was to be from 9 to noon daily, that's 15 hours. They cancelled her camp and in exchange she was given 2, one hour private lessons. Very disappointing! I had planned this trip for my daughter for more than 6 months and then 2 days before our flight I was scrammbling... More

My husband and I had a great time with Todd. He was excellent. We both got up and were riding waves in minutes. Nothing but good things to say about him and Mary.

My teenage son Tommy and my daughter Katie and niece Hayley have always been intrigued about surfing but could never figure out how to get started. Doheny State Beach is the perfect place for beginners (and intermediates) to learn to surf. The water is warm, there is plenty of parking and the waves are small enough that things don't happen...
