Nice town with a lot of restaurants and shops. My wife and I were looking for a quiet get-a-way, and found it.

We usually stay in the downtown area where everything is close. Walk to the beach, experience the over-priced drinks & chips at The Del (once!). $8 Über ride to downtown San Diego if you want more action!

Quick drive or ferry ride from downtown San Diego is Coronado Island. Walk the beach, go in the small shops, watch the dogs playing on the dog beach. Have a smoothie or a bite to it. Lovely way to spend the day.

Ride around town on the many bike lanes, check out the famous Hotel Del Coronado. There's always something happening around Coronado Island.

Crossing the big bridge from San Diego to Coronado Island is a must see place to be. It's like a very small and charming city, with it's beatiful houses colorful small shops and very cozy restaurants.

Recently stayed on Coronado for a brief vacation (Loews Coronado resort). The entire peninsula is lovely, lots of green space, a nice compact downtown area, awesome views of San Diego (especially at night). The area around the majestic Hotel Coronado is very scenic. The nice...More

We crossed by ferry from San Diego, and were immediately impressed by the immaculate condition of the front lawns, streets, grass borders, all suggesting they had been worked on by a military team. Perhaps they had. The hotel is famous for its connection with 'Some...More

A couple hours would be fine to get a good idea. Rent a bike and you will be around quickly.
