The Garrapata State Park is easy to overlook as you are driving down Highway One, but it is well worth a stop if you like hiking along the Ocean and Cliffs. We enjoyed a great hike with spectacular views. We walked along all the trails and walked a total of around 5 km

We have hiked this many times and each time are awe-struck at the beauty and magnificence of the ocean and hills/mountains coming together. We usually climb up the front, which can be steep but a great workout (30-40 mins) if you push it. Coming down the front is very steep and tough of the knees if they are old, like... More

This is a beautiful beach - definitely worth a stop even if you're only looking. Walk down to the water if you stop - it only takes a short while, but is spectacular!

Stopped here on our drive down California 1 and just fell in love with this beach. It was just breathtakingly beautiful and had it all to ourselves. My daughter sprinted in the sand as my son sat one a huge rock over the water. Really beautiful.

There are several entrances to this park which is on both sides of Hwy 1. All 19 markers for the "gates" are on the ocean side. We wanted to check out the ocean side and whale peak first and stopped at the pull-out beside gate 9. The trail is clearly marked at the start but the low vegetation gets so... More

One of our favorite stop salons the Pacific Coast Highway. This is only our second visit to the PCH. We stopped here both times and this time we visited the park at least four times. There are cliff areas for enjoying nature's beauty and a wonderful sandy beach area also God for enjoying the beauty or a more traditional beach... More

I've always enjoyed this beach, it is one of our favorite hangouts ever since learning how to cut class and drive over the hill to the beach. We either would hang out here or if we didn't have as much time we would hang out at 14th street in Santa Cruz
