Wirth a stop
Nov 2019
Bet Alpha National Park is basically one single room of the Ancient Synagogue with primitive but evocative mosaic on the floor. The 15-minute interpretive video - which was started as soon as I entered the room, since I was the only visitor at the time - is a lighthearted dramatization of the origin of the mosaic, followed by a quick overview of the synagogue architectural features, worth the time to see and listen to. The cost of entry is probably not commensurate with the offering, but it may be worth it because the mosaic is really interesting. My entire visit took under half an hour.

Interesting Zodiac Wheel Mosaic
May 2018 • Couples
Bet Alpha is an ancient synagogue with an interesting Zodiac Wheel Mosaic Floor that our tour itinerary wanted us to see. With the help from our guide, we had a deeper appreciation of what we saw. This is a very old place and you can appreciate the history.

Small and beautiful
May 2018 • Couples
It can be a very short visit afyer you've been to Beit Shean. Something connecting cristianity and judaism - beautiful mosaics in the small place where ancient synagogue stayed. Worth a short detour

Zodiac Mosaic Hidden Away in the Beautiful Jezreel Valley
Mar 2017 • Family
If you are driving towards Beit Shean or on up the River Jordan to Lake Tiberias make sure you take time to stop at Kibbutz Hefzibah next door to Kibbutz Beit Alfa to visit the visitor centre and view the Old Mosaic - one of the most famous in Israel. An excellent film showing how it was made. A fun and informative place to visit with your children.

Wonderful mosaic floor
Aug 2017 • Couples
Possibly Israel's smallest national park, the Bet Alpha Sinagogue comprises little more than the original building and a courtyard.

There is a reenactment movie about how and why the Sinagogue was designed as it is, including an explanation for some mistakes that were included. Movie is available in at least Hebrew and English.

It is worth he 45 min to 1 hour that it takes to see the movie and the mosaic.

Worth visiting
Aug 2017 • Friends
Remains of a synagogue from the 6th century, 1400 years old. Amazing and very unique mosaics. Nice movie explains the story of the synagogue, its architecture and the meaning of the beautiful mosaics. Recommended to stop by if you are in the area.

Ancient Synagogue with very rare mosaic with Greece style. Must to see! Very interesting movie about the history of the mosaic. Moreover there is a Japanese garden not far from there.

Zodiac Mosaic
Apr 2016 • Friends
It's a well preserved zodiac in a Byzantine Period synagogue. Laid down while the Talmud was being written it shockingly displays the god Helios in the center being driven by 4 horses. Biblical scenes in the lower portion while Menorahs and Jewish ritual objects above. There's a reconstruction of the building outside and a short film in English when you enter. Great place to check out on a hot day.

A very well preserved mosaic and theater show
Jun 2016 • Friends
The theater show just describes why the mosaic was commissioned and how it came to be and who actually did the work. It's very interesting to see how items were transferred from one city to the other just by people traveling and wanting the same things. Great place to stop.
