Simply Amazing
Jan 2021
I attended this tour virtually and it was simply amazing. Our tour guide Amit was so knowledgeable. I am definitely signing up for more! This is the best thing next to actually being there! Thank you, Amazing Jerusalem for providing this opportunity, especially during this pandemic.

Just a church
Mar 2020
A new church on a historic site. A bit of a disappointment to me, but I am not an extremely religious person.

Interesting and challenging site for photography
Jan 2020
We began our pilgrimage to Galilee here with an early morning visit. Traveling as a group meant that photography was a side activity, so my gear was a pocket camera. The features that were useful were wide-to telephoto zoom and HDR, the latter so useful due to the contrast under Israel's sunny skies. Missing was a strong ISO capability, needed in dark church interiors, often large where flash is both inappropriate and not functional.

Pity it concentrates on the beatitudes
Dec 2019
Presumably it means that this is the suposed site of the Sermon On The Mount. The beatitudes were only a small part of this sermon, which on balance was a hard-hitting and profound statement of how Jesus expected people to live. It's wrong that so many think of 'Gentle Jesus, meek and mild' because all they remember of Him os the beatitudes =- that is so wrong. Anyway, in an area where so many of Jesus' recorded deeds are remembered; this one is on a 'mount' away from the lake, and is a peaceful and memorable place.

Powerful
Mar 2020 • Couples
We listened to the reading of the Beatitudes while visiting there. It was beautiful, powerful, and thought-provoking. Highly recommend it!
*We are traveling with a tour company, and can't imagine visiting Israel independently. It's not a scary place to be, but one would miss soooooooo much trying to see the sights and/or fully appreciate them on your own!

Trip to ISRAEL: Day 3 Part 5
Apr 2019
The Mount of Beatitudes, believed to be the setting for Jesus’ most famous discourse-the Sermon on the Mount, is one of the most beautifully serene places in the Holy Land. Situated on a high location, it offers an enchanting view of the northern part of the lake and across to the cliffs of the Golan Heights on the other side.

The is not the exact site of the Sermon on the Mount. Still, Pilgrims commemorate the event at the octagonal Church of the Beatitudes, built on the slope of the mount.

The eight sides of the light and airy church represent the eight beatitudes, and these are also shown in Latin in the upper windows. The centrally placed altar is surmounted by a slender arch of alabaster and onyx. Around it, the seven virtues (justice, charity, prudence, faith, fortitude, hope and temperance) are depicted by symbols in the mosaic floor. In the landscaped garden, three altars are provided for group worship.

The visit to the Mount was another highlight on this 2nd day of sightseeing for our Holyland trip

A memorial stone dedicated to Filipinos
May 2019
A panoramic church on top of the Mt. of Beatitudes. There's an interesting memorial stone put up just across the church which was a way of thanksgiving to Pinoys who lived the Beatitudes by extending asylum to Vietnamese people that fled from Communist regime in the 1970s.

Another masterpiece of Italian architect Antonio Barluzzi (and partly financed by Mussolini), the Church of the Beatitudes was completed in 1938 and is managed by the Franciscans. The eight Beatitudes are commemorated in Latin in stained glass just below the dome of the eight-sided octagonal church. The seven virtues are represented around the altar. Within its small interior, the church delivers the lessons of life that we need to follow to enter the Kingdom! With a balcony that overlooks landscaped gardens and the Sea of Galilee, it’s a gorgeous property, so peaceful and tranquil. Our church group celebrated Mass in one of the outdoor chapels, and for me it was one of the most beautiful experiences of our pilgrimage.

Beautiful sites & church, built to commemorate Jesus preacher on 8 blessings, many roofed garden chapels on the site that can be used for grouped sermons that is possible to be use with reservations, the church itself is so beautifully built by an Italian architect named Antonio Barluzzi, funded by the Fransiscans Ordo of Rome.
