After the overwhelming crowds in most biblical landmarks it comes as a great relief to visit Mount of the Beatitudes and enjoy space, tranquility, beauty, sense of spiritual significance and time for reflection. Made our way through the splendid gardens to a hill overlooking the...More

Actual site where our Lord spoke to his followers in the Sermon of the Mount. Great overlook and the peace one finds here can only bring one to relive what Jesus and his followers must have felt.

Mount of Beatitudes - overlooking the Sea of Galilee - believed to be the setting for Jesus' most famous discourse: the Sermon on the Mount - it would be one of the most beautifully serene places if it weren't for the crowds! It wasn't tooooo...More

Very crowded with no place for crowds to go. Church is nothing special. View of lake is decent but nothing amazing. If you decide to go just block off a quick twenty minute visit. Not much more needed.

The crowds. That does me in usually. The site is fine but the crowds are tough to love. Further, this is one of several places where the Sermon on the Mount may have happened. This is a guess at best. The entire place is altered...More

They maintain the grounds well and it is beautiful. But it is crowded and very commercial. Your guide will make a huge difference in your experience.

Upon entering the grounds it was obvious that it is a special place of worship. Groups of devouties sitting on terraces spread around the grounds, and either reciting or singing laments (I think that is what it is called). Afterwards enjoyed glass 🍸 of water...More

The area is beautiful and has a great view of the Sea of Galilee, no wonder Jesus choose it for the Sermon on the Mount. You can see the Beatitudes written (in English) on the plaques along the path up to the church. The church...More

Hi, Israel is usually super-safe. Just consider that January can be cold, especially in the north. The distance you intend to cover is quite short and there are plenty of people doing same. So eventually you do not feel safe... More
