This little Church is another “Must See” site for Christians, and tourists like us who were fascinated by its history. The German compound is run by the Benedictine Monks of Jerusalem. It is a beautiful, ancient, but carefully preserved Church that dates back to 350...More

The most impressive thing about the Church of the Loaves & Fishes is the wonderful mosaic floor, some of which is part of the original church built around 325 AD. The history of the place is palpable.

This church is the location where Jesus fed thousands of people with just a few fish and some loaves of bread. The floor of this ancient church has a beautifully preserved mosaic.

Byzantine Christians built two churches along the shoreline to recall two separate events in Jesus' life: the feeding of the 5000 and the restoration of the disciples, including Peter, that followed the miraculous catch of fish.

I was captivated by the floor mosaics. So very beautiful. The church itself is very low-key, a refreshing change from the over-the-top places. The visitors inside ebb and flow with the tour buses' arrivals and departures, but it is possible to sit and just experience...More

What a lovely idea! The money can be converted. I wouldn't know where to send it. I would research it online to be sure it gets into the right hands.
