Great to spend an hour or more here. You can paint yourself with mud and wash off in a cool natural spring then dip in the hot pools

If you have not done anything like this before you must go. Walk across 2 bridgeds and submerge in various degrees of hot tubs. Rub on the volcanic mud, allow to dry and than wash off and feel like new. Must do activity.

You can drI’ve to the hot springs with your own car. There is parking available. If you are staying at the hotel the entrance fee is included with your stay, if not you’ll have to pay and they only except cash. They have... More

Yes, about an hour and change to get there. I would also suggest visiting Rincon de la Vieja national park, which is close to the hot springs.

Only if you wake up early. Unlike in the USA, in CR you drive a lot slower and the roads tend to not be great.
