Very entertaining and unique. Owner Mike O'Malley brings Cambria's "Nitt Witt" back to life and tells the story of Art Beal's self built castle. I was fascinated by Mr. Beal's workmanship that manages to be durable, comedic, and charming. And Mr. Beal's personality is as fascinating as his former home!

We did not take the tour. Just did a stop off on our drive. I'm not sure I'd be interested in the tour. However, it was an informative stop for my 12 year old son to teach him about how all people live differently. He had fun taking pictures of this eclectic hillside property.

The construction is fascinating; the story of the builder remarkable. We were fortunate to visit first about 20 years ago when the owner/builderr was on site. Read about him.

I was not able to go inside but just the view from outside was quite unique. The history behind how it came to be also very unique. It made me think of the song "One piece at a time and it didn't cost me a dime." Maybe it cost some, but it really is quite a sight.

We were looking for a place to eat and meandered up the hill to find this place. It was definitely a let-down and was all fenced up so you cannot see it all that well. There is an old Land Rover down the street that was WAY more interesting (My wife even agreed with that last statement).

It's not hard to find this crazy house, which is good because I wouldn't go out of my way to see it. It's interesting enough to drive past if you're around the Main Street area. It's supposed to be a house made from all sorts of recycled trash, but it's really hard to tell what's what. There's a fence around... More

This is an odd attraction in Cambria since it is a "step-child" to other sites in the area. The steps are treacherous, with few hand rails and gravel/dirt walkways. I have arthritis so I had to be careful. There is not much parking out front, no water to drink or restrooms. I felt sad after visiting there since it is... More

It difficult to get a tour of this place. If you can't it is worth just standing on the road and looking. This home was built on property that Art Beal didn't own, without permits and with materials he rescued from the garbage that people threw away (he was the local garbage collector). He didn't except help in building it... More

Didn't quite get it but some folks will. The owner must be a very interesting person. I enjoyed the quirkiness but don't want to over rate it. Maybe worth a ten minute side trip.
