For a history buff like me this would be an 8 star attraction, for iPad toting teens probably a 0, so I compromise at a 4. One can take a quick look, or spend a few minutes reading the history and admiring the design and...More

After 86 years, what happened? The lens was made in France in 1872 and graced the lighthouse for all those many years when the 1948 earthquake (with the epicenter very close by) threw a monkey wrench into the works. The lighthouse was destabilized, the top...More

Our guides, Abel and Lanny, clearly love sharing their knowledge of the lighthouse and the adjacent coastal area. Bring your National Park pass to save half the price.

The actual light from the Piedras Blancas Light Station was reassembled by the Lions Club and sits between the East and West Villages of Cambria. Definitely a place to stop if you've visited the lighthouse itself.

Right on the main street in Cambria is the lens from the Piedras Blancas Lighthouse. Definetly worth a 10 minute stop. But go see the actual lighthouse of highway one. It is a great tour and has great views on the trails along the peninsula.

Sitting along Main Street Cambria on the south side of the road is the lens from the lighthouse! It's well kept, and adds an interesting touch. Not sure it's worth more than a drive-by, though...
