Like its more famous Yellowstone counterpart, this Napa Valley geyser erupts at regular intervals - every forty minutes, in the case of the Calistoga gusher.

We visited the geyser today with our teenage daughters and all found it very interesting and enjoyable. A small well kept park with interesting geological exhibition and cute goats to feed! Good value we thought compared to many places we've visited - deserves a higher...More

If you can't get to Yellowstone or New Zealand, this isn't a terrible option to at least get to see a geyser. It does spout very regularly. There are some animals there to look at but not really much else to do.

Went to see this with our teens. Had seen articles touting it as a family friendly activity in Napa. It's not far from Calistoga, but is a big hike from down valley where we were staying closer to Napa. It goes off every 30-40 minutes....More

When we arrived the guy explained what was there an gave us a map, although the place is not large and you will be able to see the geyser from anywhere in the park. The whole place is really lovely. There are shaded seating areas...More

Traveling Napa with my 16yr old son, we added the geyser to our itinerary to keep him interested. We arrived after the vineyards closed. We waited about 30 min and the geyser went off. It goes off for about 6-7 minutes giving you plenty of...More

Small family oriented park...petting zoo. Interesting story behind this geyser and forecasting earthquakes. Geyser goes off frequently so edit to witness one lasting over 2 minutes.

We were here 30 years ago when the place was very small. Always remembered it. Told the grandkids about it and had a chance to take them. Built up a lot in the 30 years! Besides old faithful they have fainting goats and other animals....More

This place was awful even with the online coupon we found and would still be awful even if it were free. From the geology "museum" that was dark, has nothing interactive for kids to explore and learn from (it consists of signs on the walls...More

We are Nor Cal natives, visiting Napa/Calistoga for the first time, on a short trip camping (in nearby yurts) with children. This was our destination for a nearby stop outside of the campground. We visited late morning on a weekday and had the place to...More

Granted, there is not a ton of stuff to do here. We rode our bicycles from a neighboring spa/resort and had a nice hour there. They had a convenient bike rack in the parking lot. Luckily, old faithful went off a couple of times during...More

When traveling with children/teens, you need to consider their tastes in entertainment. Napa Valley is geared toward adults. The Wine Train is fun for adults; but, children may not appreciate the Calif. food/wine served... More
