Located in beautiful Napa Valley wine country, Bothe-Napa Valley offers year-round camping for tents, RVs, bikes, walk-ins and now YURTS! Day visitors enjoy picnicking, hiking trails and a seasonal swimming pool. Large picnic grounds are available for group events. Stop in at our Visitor Center in the 1860s Tucker House, and learn about the park's first homestead families - trail maps available. Hikes range from easy, shady strolls in the redwoods to longer hikes up to Coyote Peak with great views of the valley. Or, take a hike on the History Trail past the historic Pioneer Cemetery and on to our sister park, the Bale Grist Mill, where you can take a tour of an operating water powered mill built in 1846 that still grinds grain on the original stones!

We stayed in Yurt #3 which was really cool for our first time yurting! Didn't care for all the traffic noise from Hwy. 29 which is a pretty busy road. Try to stay in the yurts further into the woods. Nice hiking trails! Wood was $10 a bundle which was laughable and way overpriced!

The only downside to this park is the $8 entrance fee, Robert Louis Stevenson Park is free and more extensive, but it is less convenient to the Napa Valley area.

As we were not able to visit Muir Woods due to the crowds, it was a real treat to walk through Bothe-Napa and see the redwoods in total solitude. We saw only one other group the whole time on the trails. Did Coyote Peak and back in about 2.5 hours. Really, really beautiful trees, flowers, scents and views along the... More

Bothe Park is a wonderful escape from the ever-increasing traffic and congestion in wine country. Park your car and hit the trails -- away from the noise of Highway 29 and into the peaceful forest past rushing streams and blooming wildflowers in spring, although each seasonn offers its rewards. There are trails to suit every fitness level. And if you... More

It's difficult to label ANY nature hike as "Average." But this is supposed to be a helpful review, and I can't say it was higher than *** . POSITIVES Yes, there are redwood stands. A few minutes past the trailhead, I was "at home" among the familiar sequoioideae. I had the hike to myself, except for the occasional fellow hiker.... More

Hiked Coyote Peak trail to top and some of the surrounding trails. Creeks were running heavy from rains this year, so that was nice. Some areas were blocked from storm damage still, but we made it to top. Nice park in middle of Napa valley--lots of poison oak on sides of trails.

This is a great quiet park with a lot of history, including very unique working Mill, I guess the only one in California. The settiing is very scenic at any time of the year, but summers have a tendency to be hot and dry.Hiking is great among Redwoods and one can easily choose appropriate activity level,And world class wineries are nearby.

We tent camped here for 2 nights while enjoying Napa as part of a California road trip. The park is ideally located near the many vineyards and restaurants. It's clean, quiet, and has nice trails. Sadly, dogs are not allowed on any trails, which is unfortunate. Still, it's a nice campground that we will enjoy on our way thru the... More

The Redwood trail is great hike through the trees; went on a Wednesday and it was very private. The Mill was closed so we didn't see that part. Nice temperature this time of year.

After doing the mill the previous day, we wanted a longer hike. This time we went to Bothe-Napa state park. Great 6mi hike. I'd say a medium level hike. Some crossing of streams and some steeper climbs. Good for a 2-3hr morning hike. It's beautiful.
