About
Pruneti introduces its Oil Tasting Room, soul and heart of innovation that Pruneti brings from Chianti Classico to World Market. With the Oil Tasting Room we exceed the simple tasting experience introducing a new age, where the “Pruneti Extraordinary-Experience” turns into a journey in the augmented reality of the oil Universe. The Pruneti Extra-ordinary Experience goes back a long way – more than four generations ago – and like a time machine takes us to the very near and contemporary future. A “never ending story” goes not only over the time, but also over the space, it comes out of Frantoio Pruneti and the Oil Tasting Room’s borders and it’s ready to conquer an always growing Pruneti Lovers Community.

An education on oil
Aug 2020 • Family
We booked the one hour visit without problems by e- mail. This turned into a much longer eye opening and fascinating visit. The visit started with a description and review of the process of olive oil making. For most of the year the machinery is not running but this does not prevent a picture being created for you. The tasting follows and with a simple explanation and a great passion for the product a whole new level of appreciation and taste is opened up to you. To understand good food you need an introduction such as this from some so obviously connected to their surrondings, their raw material and the craft of making it. Our son, aged 11 also really enjoyed it. I will now always use and taste oil in a differently.

Great experience!

Did a tour and tasting at the Pruneti Olive Mill today with my husband and was so impressed. Katie, our tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly. The most interesting part was her explanation about extra virgin olive oil and "everything else"... the oil was delicious and we learned a lot. Highly recommended!!!❤

Paying for what we could got for free
May 2019 • Friends
During our trip to Chianti, we wanted to visit an oil refinery and were told that Pruneti oil is among the best in the region. We were also excited about the "unique olive oil tasting room" that they set up.
The first part of the visit was a short introduction to olive oil and how to make it. Since it was out of season, the machinery was of course not operating and we only got a very basic lecture. Coming from olive oil producing region, we didn't actually learn much new.
Next, we got the olive oil tasting. It was basically three plastic cups and some water, each plastic cup containing a bit of one of their cultivars. We were told how to properly taste the olive oil, tasted the three samples, and that was it. No explanation, no discussion... We were interested in buying some oil (there is a sort-of-a shop there), therefore we asked if we could taste other oils (especially the blends) that they have. The lady responded that this is not possible since we were supposed to try only the three oils on the table. Really? And we paid 10 EUR per person for that! A couple of days later, we got a friendly, free-of-charge, very informative oil tasting in the centre of Greve. Free of charge, of course...

Goodmorning Matevz, We are very saddened that you didn't appreciate our service and we are quite surprised since it has been 10 years we have always got compliments for that. We would like to specify that we have always offered free tasting of all of our oils, monocultivar and blends to anyone how asked us for, both at the Oil Tasting Room and at the Extra Gallery in Greve in Chianti. What we agreed was a tour of our company with the explanation about our production process, a discussion about the Extravirgin olive oil and a professional tasting of some of our oil in our Tasting room that we reserved you based on your booking.. something i think no one would do for free. Right now we sense that probably you would like to have a different kind of service with more technical and specific insights we hope to offer you in a future time. E. Innocenti

Unique olive oil tasting experience
Jul 2019 • Family
Beautiful new olive oil tasting room in the heart of Greve. Chianti is known for its wine but the Pruneti family now strives to educate the beauty of olive oil. Located next to the bus stop which we took from Florence. Super easy to get to.

We did a guided olive oil tasting, we tried 9 olive oil ranging from fruity to spicy, from blended to single varieties. aromas of fresh cut grass to tomatoes! We then did the tasting with food, and even a couple Chianti Classico to pair. All the food prepared in their own kitchen. Learning about extra virgin olive oil is just as fun as learning about wine!

Extremely interesting experience! Highly recommend.

Quality Tuscan Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Jun 2019 • Couples
I met up with Paulo again at the New York Food Show. It was a pleasure. Although we visited Pruneti last during the 2016 harvest season, I am pleased to report that Pruneti is making great Tuscan olive oil one olive at a time.

If you are interested in top quality extra virgin olive oil made the "right way," I suggest a visit to Pruneti. Best to arrange to visit during the harvest season (October) so you get to see how olives are harvested and crushed. In any event, sampling their oils is an unexpected pleasure.

I understand from Paulo that they have opened a small boutique in Greve to educate the consumer on what to look for in a great olive oil. Will visit soon.

Learned SO much about olive oil!
Oct 2018 • Friends
We first took a tour of the facilities before we sat down to have a tasting of three types of olive oil. It was most interesting and our "guide" was very knowledgeable and shared much information with us. Of course I had to buy some!

We enjoyed a fascinating tour of the Pruneti Olive Oil facility and learned so much! We were then treated to a wonderful lunch, complete with "flights" of olive oil and explanations of all of the variations.

A taste of excelent tuscan olive oil.
Jun 2017 • Family
We went in San Polo in Chianti because our landlord warmly recomend it.
For the first time in our life somebody showed us how to enjoy olive oil. How to smell it, apreciate the color and the tase.
Not only that they explain us the basics of good oil but we also tasted and compared the oils.
They are producing with great passion one of the best oil we ever tasted.
We are recommanding to go there and have a taste; both the monoculture and the blended oils are fantastic. Definitly we will come back everytime when we are in Tuscany.
