We were in the nearby town of Solvang for the Santa Barbara Wine Country Half Marathon and were looking to explore the area when we found this oddity. It's cheap and fun - when we went it was 5$ to go see the animals and 1$ per "food bowl." There are a plethora of emus and ostriches, and you hold... More

We passed this place a few times and finally decided to stop by. For a nominal fee you can feed the ostriches and emus they have on site. Before feeding, the worker told us that the emus (located past the ostriches) are a little gentler when feeding... and was she correct! So glad, we started there. As you approach the... More

Took my 10 year old daughter to the Ostrich farm and we had a blast! It cost about $1 for a tray of food you can feed to the ostriches and emus. These birds are HUGE and strong, so be careful they will rip the food tray right out of your hand. We spent around 30 minutes here in all.... More

come to see and feed the ostriches. Great family trip. Woman in office was not very friendly - perhaps a bad day with tourists. I expected more

We stopped at Ostrich Land at the recommendation of a Santa Barbara resident who said it was great fun to feed the ostriches and emus. And she was right. The place is small with a little gift shop at the entrance - everything from purses to feathers. The entrance fee is reasonable and for a dollar extra, you get a... More

We were exploring the area on a Saturday afternoon and came upon this place. What a blast! You can feed the birds from a path through the pens. Watch out or they will steal the feeding bowl. Also watch out for the wandering turkey that must be a ninja, because it will sneak up on you and bury its head... More

This is a short stop off the road for a good laugh. You get to buy food and feed the Ostriches or Emus. I have teenage girls and they got a kick out of it. They charge you $5.00 just to go back there and then more for the food. You have to get the food or it isn't worth... More

It's worth the stop. It's a farm, a bit rustic and smells a bit, but it's fun to get close to the ostrichs and emus. You can look at them up close and see parts of their dinosaur ancestors. it's Interesting to watch how they move and act.
