This is on of the most seen of the Glooscap statues, even though most people only see it from behind on the highway. Those who are more than just passing by through Nova Scotia might want to take a stop, as Glooscap being a local MikMak hero takes practically the same role in this area as Paul Bunyon does in... Staff are very helpful, friendly, and informative. You not only learn about the culture, but have the pleasure of listening while they perform with their native musical instruments. I became fascinated with a piece of art that I didn't know anything about, but haunted me even after returning home. I contacted the center via email and Heather responded immediately and... More

Be sure to watch the short film on the history of the Mi'kmaq. It is so well done both in content and presentation. There is a lot to learn so be sure to give yourself time, but do not miss their gift shop and book collection.

They have done a really excellent job on this museum. You start with a well-done movie then examine all the exhibits. The exhibits are well laid out and very informative. It is really worth visiting to get a better understanding of their history.

This was another treasure that provides real history of the native habitants. An eighteen minute video presents a large amount of information. Well worth the minimal admission if you want to learn about the local inhabitants.

This cultural and heritage centre is amazing, and well worth a visit if you're in the Truro, NS area. We were invited to view a short film pertaining to Mi'kmaw history, then we toured the amazing displays. I have to point out the quality of the merchandise in the gift shop. This is by no means your ordinary trinket shop.... More

I have been past here many times on my way around Nova Scotia but I had the opportunity to take my international students inside to learn about the Mi'kmaq culture. The museum was interesting and a good introduction for visitors.

Visiting the Centre on the 14th August 2016 was the best way to spend the morning hours. I learntalot of the Mik-mag indigenous people way of life and that they still exist in this region. Watching the Video was a rich learning of their history.

This Centre is definitely worth a visit as it encompasses the wealth of the First Nation culture. I really appreciated the introductory film, the exhibit soon, the panels regarding the language and the architecture in general of this site. Their shop also has a great choice of books and artefacts.
