Description:

Spend a full day sea kayaking through the Shoalwater Islands Marine Park...

Spend a full day sea kayaking through the Shoalwater Islands Marine Park and get up close and personal with Australian wildlife in and out of the water. Take a guided walk to explore Penguin Island and enjoy snorkelling among the limestone reef full of marine life. Its a fun filled day out for those of all ages.

Penguin and Seal Island are part of Shoalwater Islands Marine Park, which is approximately 45 minutes south of Perth City or 5 minutes south of Rockingham. Sea kayaking is a fantastic way to explore these rugged limestone islands (approx 1km offshore) and their unique wildlife including: Australia SeaLions, Little Blue Penguins, Colonies of Pelicans and thousands of other sea birds that use these islands as safe nesting places. We also offer snorkelling during the warm summer months as a way of exploring these shallow waters, limestone reefs and fish life.

We Provide: Double sea kayaks (traditional sit inside, with rudders for comfortable cruising), paddles, lifejackets, long sleeve sun shirts, hats, dry bags (for valuables), snorkelling gear (during the warmer summer months), entry fee into the Penguin Discovery Centre, qualified guide, morning tea/lunch (we can cater for dietary requirements), transport to and from Rockingham Train Station, smiles, wildlife and a great time!

You Bring: Drinking water, sunscreen, bathers/boardies, camera, thongs/sandals/crocs. A jacket can be handy during the cooler spring and autumn months. Some people like a change of clothes to put on after the paddle.

When: 26th September 2015 to 25th April 2016

Minimum Number: 2 Persons

Pick Up: Rockingham Train Station- Please be there for a 7.55 pick up, we will be driving a white van towing a trailer load of yellow sea kayaks. Return approximately 2.00pm.

Meet us at Shoalwater- Please be there by 8.05, at Pengos Cafe car park, Penguin rd intersection, Shoalwater.

Great trip today! Rhys was out tour guide and was friendly, fun and approachable. I'm a novice kayaker and he was really patient with me as he shared my kayak. Seeing all the local wildlife so close and in their natural habitats was lovely and the penguin tour was very cute. It was well worth doing!

This was a fantastic mother-daughter day out. We loved every minute and re-live the thrill of getting up close with the animals over and over as the months go by. Tours in the wild like this are the way of the future!

We had a fabulous day with Chris yesterday. We are a couple with 2 boys (11&13 years old). Chris was our instructor, tour guide, and 'chef' . He was very patient with us especially we are all first timers in kayaking (zero experience). We were bit skeptical with the tour especially we are supposed to kayak in deep sea but... More

Had a fabulous day out with Chris this morning. He made the effort to tow a doubles kayak that was struggling. We saw the local pod of dolphins including junior the calf, sea lions, pelicans, crested terns and a lot of seagulls and their eggs. Chris was on time, organized, knowledgeable, patient and took us on an interesting walk on... More

Great day out with Chris in kayaks, paddling around the bay and out to Seal and Penguin Islands. Chris was very pleasant, easy-going and knowledgeable about most of the fauna in the area, as well as background to the region. It was great to have him show us around Penguin Island and point out things others may not have noticed... More

We had a lovely day out in the kayaks paddling around to see the Seals and then to Penguin Island where we walked around the island and then went to the Penguin show. We had a wonderful adventure with Chris and friends, Sea-kayaking around Penguin Island. A great mixture of adventure, intellectual stimulation, relaxation and fun. On the water we got to do some much needed exercise, take in some beautiful sights, learn about the flora and fauna and get just enough thrill in the swell without being in danger or feeling threatened.... I stayed in Perth CBD the night before then took the train down to Rockingham where Chris picked me and the others up. It was short drive to the beach where we had some guidance and prepared our kayaks for the day. All food is provided but make sure you bring your own water to drink along the way. There's... More

I purchased this tour as a Christmas present for my 11 year old Grandson and one for myself so I could do something fun with him. Had an awesome day, plenty of kayaking but not too much, some snorkeling and walking with some history thrown in as well. Our tour guides, Page and Jock were very informative and great fun.... More
