Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stopped in at the woolen mill and were thrilled to be offered a private tour of the design studio and weaving shop including several lovingly restored and maintained 19th century looms. While on the tour we gained many insights into the design process and variety of fibres and colours in Mckernan's textiles. Of course we also shopped and have lovely scarves as a reminder of our visit. If you're touring Lough Derg in County Clare be sure to stop in.

We went twice - did the tour of the workshops second time - very informative - polite and friendly explanations and demonstrations by craftsmen for whom this is clearly a work of love as well as a living. Excellent scarfs in the shop including a "discount" rail that tempted us again and again!

On our coach to cliffs of Moher we made a quick stop here, maybe 30 minutes. I found the best Irish souvenirs here and a better price than anywhere else so far. There’s a restaurant upstairs. Customer service was quick and helpful and I walked out with quite a haul. Perfect. Bunratty Castle just a few steps away but we didn’t have time for that.

Great place to visit. Owner is very entertaining and could talk for ireland. Really loved seeing the place. Bought some great presents.
Went into the shop across the road assuming it all belonged to the mills. This is owned by a completly different person. So make sure you go into the right shop!

Amazing insight into an industry that is so removed from our everyday life (in a way!) Beautifully designed items for safe and lovingly made by a family run business. It’s so good to see this in the West!

This is a great stop on the way to or from Shannon. A business started by Eugene and Anke McKernan, we stopped by and were greeted by both of them and given a tour.
It's in the middle of the small village of Tuamgraney, and have recently acquired a property across the street to add to the original building. Also across the street and next to their new building is a small car park and a cafe and shop that sells a range of local crafts. The McKernans recommend calling in advance so they can be sure that everything is up an running when you arrive, but even if you don't do that, you will get a warm welcome.

We stopped by as it is close to where we were seeing. Pleasant surprise to be given a full tour of their mill!!! Truly friendly staff and answered all of our son's technical questions on their machines. A pleasure to purchase a scarf made there!

Called in while passing. Staff member we were talking to was very helpful & explained the different ways their products were made.
We were offered a chance to see a loom working but unfortunately we did not have the time. Well worth a visit, beautiful range of scarves.

Trip Advisor- I was a visitor to the Mill so I can't answer a technical question about caring for the fabrics. The person asking the question should contact the Mill directly for the information required.
