We have visited Eungella NP many times however recently we camped up there. Highly recommended! There are a few camping options to choose from both with toilets and fire rings. Eungella NP has lots of walking options and lovely views over the Pioneer Valley. There...More

Platypus in their natural environment...wow!!! Eungella National Park has amazing views from the lookouts (make sure you check out Sky Window Lookout), and if you're lucky, great opportunities to spot some platypuses at Broken River. We waited for about 3 hours for the platypuses to show up and were ready to give up when we saw them! So happy we stuck it out, a true gem to see them frolicking around. Would recommend this to everyone but be patient and...More

Great drive out and well worth the travel time. Some great look outs and the Broken River walk was nice. We didn’t see any platypus but we were there in the middle of the day. Apparently the best time to see them is dusk and...More

Great day trip from Mackay - see platypus, rainforest walks and stunning views. The paths are gravelled not trekking so easy for most. There's a little cafe too but picnic areas to take your own food too.

Sorry, I don't know if there are public transportation options. It's pretty far off the beaten path, so suspect you'd need a car.

It is all sealed unless you want to go up to the dam. We travelled to see the platypus in a little rental car, enjoy it is a very magical place.
