Went here with 2 small kids and 3 teens...and all had fun. Fed the animals in the nature park (bring celery and lettuce!), then we all rode the steam train (12 minute ride, $3 tickets).

Berkeley's crown jewel, Tilden has something for just about everyone. Green spaces, camping, cookouts, swimming, hiking and so on. Add to that the farm, steam trains, and carousel and you have an amazing park.

Drove scenic Wildcat Canyon Road to come here. The gardens were pleasant to wander around though it was hilly and the map and signage did not boost directional confidence.

Lots to see and do. Just sitting and looking into the distance was perfect! Too bad the steam train area isn't open during the week. The gardens are amazing!
