I really want to like 4th street, because they have worked very hard to create comfortable, wide sidewalks with eye-candy storefronts in Berkeley. However, I just don't like it here much. I still come down when I need something specific (Apple store, Crate and Barrel). Otherwise, I avoid it because it is quite crowded and the parking is a total... More

I visited fourth street to go to the apple store and buy an iPhone. I ended up sitting at the peet's nearby and had a good time reading and chatting with my friend for a long while. This area is quite a posh location and its fun to just walk through while window shopping.

Some nice shops - Sur La Table, Kiehl's, Mephisto, The Gardener, etc., but all are very pricey except for a few such as Crate & Barrel Outlet (which always has a few fun items I seem to need) But fun to browse. Parking can be extremely difficult, and I steer clear on holidays and weekends due to this fact.

Went there to grab lunch and buy groceries from Viks: an store selling products from India and it has a Indian food restuarant too. Good to see and taste Indian delicacies in US. Got Parle G biscuits from there: 24 PCs for just less than 4 usd

Berkeley's 4th street has some nice shops, but I find the atmosphere a little too precious. I do like the Mexican food at Tachibaya, and occasionally shop there

Fourth Street is not where the Berkeley action is; in fact, it is in a rather industrial area. But it is a nice strip of high quality stores and a few restaurants. You'll find everything from furniture and accessories to artwork and jewelry in an area of just a few blocks. The Crate and Barrel Outlet Store is a nice... More

This is one of my favorite spots in Berkeley and I go there whenever I'm in the East Bay. On weekends, there can be pet adoptions or dancers or bake sales. It's always lively. There's metered parking on the street but several 3 hour lots are entered on both sides of the street and at the end of the block.... More
