This is one of the best trails in Algonquin for breathtaking scenery. The Booth’s Rock trail has a nice lookout but for the sheer number of gorgeous lookouts Centennial Ridges Trail is the best for photography. To hike the entire loop is 10k and it’s a challenging trail. The guidebook says allow 6+ hours. We did the trail in 4... More

My boyfriend and I recently did this trail. I had looked up the official time to hike the trail and saw that it was 6hrs, however upon reading reviews saw that most people seemed to finish in 3 hours while "stopping for pictures" and walking "leisurely". We are both in our twenties, and are in reasonable shape. I hike more... More

Over the years we have hiked most of the trails along the highway 60 corridor in Algonquin Park. Centennial Ridges is one of the more scenic trails we have done in Algonquin and probably my new favourite. The terrain is varied, the view from the ridges is beautiful, and the entire hike is enjoyable. We brought our dog along (leashed)... More

Excellent hiking experience, especially in the early fall, the trail is located closer to the East gate of the Algonquin park. At the visitor's Center you need to buy a parking permit, the free park map will show you how to get to the start of the trail. 10 km long, not too difficult or steep, the trail goes in... More

This trail is far enough from the main highway that for the most part you don't get to hear the cars. The official time to walk it is 6hrs, but it can be easily done in 4 w/o rushing and enjoying your surroundings. It's a little more demanding than the other trails, but still very easy (I met lots of... More

This was a very challenging trail with some very steep inclines and down slopes that you could easily twist an ankle or lose your footing. Good shoes are necessary! Lots of water and energy snacks to keep you going. My husband and I challenged ourselves to see how much time we could shave off the recommended 5-6 hrs. We stopped... More

I've done Centennial Ridges probably 7 or 8 times. It's just a fantastic hike through the park. Centennial is the toughest day hike in the park, you definitely should be in at least reasonable shape before tackling this trail (plus wear reasonable footwear - pity the people I saw trying to navigate this trail in flipflop!) Centennial offers some of... More

Algonquin Park, the granddaddy and crown jewel of the Ontario Parks system, is one of our go-to places when needing an outdoor fix. We’ve done everything from Highway 60 corridor car camping, back country canoe tripping, to hiking most of the trails. Unfortunately, work schedules, plus distance to get there at times make it a challenge. But when we decide... More

This is a tough trail that climbs over 150 meters, drops and then you climb again. Along several very high ridges at almost the highest point in Algonquin, there are views of the lakes and forest for over 20 miles. The tour also provides a history on the park and the main characters that developed the park over the last 120... More
