Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a beautiful view but what was much more meaningful was visiting the (slightly out of town) 1798 Visitors Centre first. When you realise the history of the place it really changes your visit. My son and I sat at the summit for ages, watching butterflies dance around, enjoying the vista of the countryside around. Very special place.

I've been coming to Wexford all my life and had never been up Vinegar Hill before. It's an easy drive up, although the lane gets very narrow, although there is plenty of visibility and spaces to pull in for oncoming cars.
The car park is a good size so finding a space shouldn't be an issue.
There are plenty of information boards explaining the significance of the hill before you have to walk the final 100 yards or so to the top. The views are great and look right across Enniscorthy. My 2 and 5 year old had no problem walking up so it is suitable for families or people who aren't particularly fit
Well worth a quick visit if nearby.

In June of 1798 during the Rebellion, 13,000 British soldiers attacked the Irish Rebels holding Vinegar Hill. A battle took place on the hill and throughout the town of Enniscorthy. If you are into history at all you need to stand up there and soak it all in. If you are not into history, the views alone are worth the short walk from the parking area. History fans...I highly recommend listening to the song "Vinegar Hill" by the band Black 47 while you're up there. I did that and it was a very cool moment.

If you drive to the car park it's only a 2 minute walk up a paved path to the top. We walked from the village and while it's a steep climb it only takes about 45 mins and gives you a feel for what the people of the time faced - although the terrain was probably much rougher for them.
I would recommend visiting the 1978 Rebellion centre first as you would have a better appreciation of Vinegar Hill and the battle.

Vinegar Hill today is obviously a very different place to the battle ground of 1798 but having visited the 1798 Exhibition Centre earlier in the day I was quite moved to be there. It is quite an easy walk up the wide path which is wheelchair/buggy friendly to the grassy top. The rocky peak can be climbed. The views are wonderful.

I would highly recommend a visit to The National 1798 Rebellion Centre before you go to Vinrgar Hill !! Then you get a real feel for Vinegar Hill. Now I know we stand on the shoulders of Giants,to fight for freedom with pikes against guns and cannon.. I'm not worthy to stand on this Sacred Ground

On a recent trip to Enniscorthy we decided to drive to Vinegar Hill. Pay attention or you'll miss the turn off, up along a VERY narrow road which leads to the parking lot. Read the memorial before heading up. A quick up hill walk (wear appropriate shoes) and all of a sudden you have a 360 degree view of the entire countryside around Enniscorthy. We were so luck that day, although windy and cool the sun was out making for beautiful shades of Green in the fields below. If you've got 30 mins to spare, take the trip up and learn about the Battle of Vinegar Hill.

Called in the hope of some photographs.
Good clean carpark and a tarred path to the top.
Good 360 views but slightly hazy on day of visit.
