Sprawling Estate with loads of cross country jumps from simple to challenging. Well schooled horses who love to jump and knowledgeable instructors who can improve riding.

The best horse riding holiday!
Apr 2019 • Solo
I visited Crossogue in April 2019 as a solo traveller. I've been riding for 18 years but haven't really done much cross country before, so wanted to challenge myself by doing something completely different! I can honestly say this was one of the best riding experiences that I have ever done and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone who is looking to do a horsey holiday, either to do alone or with a group of friends and wants to progress their riding.

Noel sure is a brilliant but demanding instructor! After 18 years of riding on group lessons where individual 121 feedback is limited, this was a real eye opener for me. At the start of the week the focus was on improving technique with an emphasis on rhythm, popping over smaller fences whereas towards the end of the week Noel had me moving on to more technical and bigger fences (the dreaded steps!). Riding and jumping outside in the countryside is so different to that in an arena and I was fortunate to have a lovely horse called Patch who looked after me for the week and gave me the confidence I needed to tackle the fences.

Aside from the riding, Mark and his team went out of their way to make me feel at home and I was fortunate enough to meet the most wonderful other guests during my time at Crossogue. The house and grounds are beautiful and the food is all home cooked and freshly made. We had the lovely Alice cook for us and I can honestly say she's inspired me to want to become a better cook!

I had the best week at Crossogue and will cherish the memories that I made forever. The only thing that could have been improved was the weather - but that's Ireland for you!

Exquisite experience
May 2019 • Friends
An awesome experience at Crossogue Equestrian in Tipperary!
We did a day trip-morning coffee, 2 rides and a homemade lunch in between.
This place is absolutely stunning; rich fertile land, masses of acres of gorgeous pastures and the most stunning house/base where a huge welcome was extended us, welcoming chats and delicious home cooked meals.
The horses are fabulous; forward going but safe and well trained, really well matched to the rider and exquisitely well looked after. They have the horses trained to safely jump well in excess of a 1.20m, so our experience of 40’s/60’s/80’s wasn’t a push safety-wise for them.
We had time in the arena in the morning after our coffees where we got to know our horses and our coach/guide, Noel, got to know us. I am not a strong rider and try not to take myself too seriously on horseback-a busy mom with lots on, so as long as I had a nice day where I was challenged safely, I was happy. This delivered!
After some tuition, we got ourselves out to the vast and beauififul XC course.
It was so well done; we hacked out to each field/series of jumps, then Noel explained what we were to do, then we would do it! Then some coaching, then repeat.
It was a really challenging day but so enjoyable we learned a hell of a lot.
It’s not cheap to visit Crossogue, but it was a fabulous day and so well worth it.
Next time, would love to go for a couple of nights to really get the full of this equestrian oasis! 😇❤️🐎
Highly recommended 👌
Best of luck Mark & team for the coming season. This place is just stunning!

I went cross country jumping to get over my fear of wide and solid jumps
Oct 2018 • Solo
I came across Crossgue when an instagram friend posted she was going on a trip there. I decided to overcome some of my fears in jumping and join her. I took a bus to Thurles and there a few of us were picked up and taken the rest of the way to Crossogue.

The staff is more than amazing, the horses are wonderful, training was great, and the food was a 10/10! This trip served to help me get over some anxiety I had about jumping certain fences. Let me tell you it did! In the beginning I was nervous to pop over a log! They were patient with me and had the most wonderful, experienced, athletic horses. By the end of the week I was flying around a whole cross country course that I felt I could do with ease! I even asked if I could try some jumps I saw out in the field on the last day and they encouraged me to go for it! I felt comfortable and free, confident and happy! I'm going again next October!

I had some expectations going to Crossogue and my time there went above and beyond my expectations. I highly recommend Crossogue even to riders who aren't confident in jumping cross country. Not only did I have a blast meeting wonderful people and enjoying Ireland, I accomplished my goal of becoming a more confident jumper.

I was on a yoga & riding fitness retreat at Crossogue Equestrian Estate in September 2018 and it was an excellent experience from start to finish! Mark Malloy and his team have made Crossogue such a warm and welcoming place to visit and to stay. Jenny, Zoe and Sylvia made sure we were comfortable and well-fed; 3 wonderfully fresh meals - the food was delicious and graciously prepared and served. The horses are beautiful, loved and well-cared for and the instructors, Noel and Kevin were amazing! The farms' 250 acres in the Irish countryside are lovely and peaceful. Cross-country riding and jumping was new to me and quite challenging, but Noel knew just when to encourage and when to gently push. Loved every minute of it and cannot wait to go back. Truly the trip of a lifetime!! Thank you to Mark and his team for everything.

Experience of a lifetime—unless we go back!
Sep 2018 • Family
My mother had previously been to Crossogue and ever since my 13 year old was born has dreamed of taking her. This year it happened and they both loved it. Mom is a life-long equestrian and my daughter has ridden for about 5 years. We (wife + me) visited for about 24 hours at the end of their week and got to watch them school twice and spent the night there.

They’d made a lot of progress thanks to Noel and confidence was greatly improved. The horses were very well matched for abilities & size. They had a grand time and met several other nice guests but Mark and team stole the show for hospitality and interesting conversation. Those folks (Mark, Noel, Jen, Zoe, etc) are a big part of what makes the experience so brilliant.

The food was excellent and there was always more than enough served. Don’t forget to try/buy some preserves while you’re there too!

It was a week my mother and daughter will never forget and my daughter has already said she wants to go back!

Perfect experience
May 2018 • Friends
Everything about Crossogue is amazing in absolutely all aspects. All of the staff are so generous and welcoming that it feels like you're at home with all of them. The home cooked meals are delicious and there is an abundance of food. They are also great at working with you if you have any food allergies or other dietary considerations.

Our group had a mix of brand new beginner riders, some advanced riders, and every level in between. Crossogue did a fantastic job of pairing all the riders with appropriate horses and breaking the larger group into smaller riding groups based on skill and goals. We worked with the same horse throughout the week so we could get to know them and really grow our riding skills. The instructors are so patient, knowledgeable, and down to earth - they were so fantastic to work with and learn from. They know exactly how to challenge you as a rider while still keeping everything safe and you comfortable.

It was very difficult to leave this amazing place at the end of the week, and I'm already trying to plan another trip back.

Hidden Gem in the Irish Countryside
May 2018 • Solo
I just recently stayed at Crossogue as part of a group fitness retreat. Crossogue is in the heart of the Irish countryside and takes serious and with passion what they do. Their staff from the house to the stables were always accommodating. They take their lessons very serious but with no pressure. I felt comfortable but yet challenged. I walked away with more than I came with, learning more and more everyday. I never felt pressured to keep up with the daily schedule or itinerary, it was relaxed and a comfortable atmosphere.
The meals were outstanding and made with great care, Thanks to Silvia and Jenny. Mark the owner was extremely accommodating and always went the extra mile to take care of all of our requests. Noel and Mica from the stables, are extremely knowledgeable and made sure I was comfortably challenged everyday. Our tour guide Tom was very happy to share his knowledge of the area, as well as his hurling sticks as a souvenir for my sons back home in the states.
I will definitely return with the rest of my family in the future.
