What a wonderful experience we had at Tipperary Mountain Trekking Centre! Clare and her team were so friendly, accommodating and experienced, and really made the day fun and educational. It's absolutely gorgeous in those hills and seeing it on horseback is the way to do it! You're surrounded by a land rich in history, so along the way, Clare relays stories of the area, things of legend, and a solid history lesson. In a land full of magic, the day we went on a mountain trek just added to an already unique experience of being in Ireland. I highly recommend them whether it's just two people or a large group. I can't wait to do it again!

I had a phenomenal pub ride with Clare and her beautiful horses. One of the most fun treks I’ve ever done. I learned about the area, it’s history, and it’s nature between gorgeous gallops across the countryside. The horses are happy and healthy and Clare and Lily are knowledgeable (and accredited) riders. The lunch was delicious and the pub’s soup should not be missed.

This place is owned by a lady and her daughter . The daughter is lovely and welcoming , unfortunately the owner is not .
The owner was very rude and condescending from the moment we arrived and my children got really upset by her attitude and how she spoke with them .
The horses also had their ears back and looked miserable the whole time we were there .
We left sad and upset , especially my daughter which of course really upset me

This was one of the best things we did as a family in the Irish countryside. We are a family of 4 with young kids ages 3 and 6. I wasn’t sure how they’d be able to ride horses but Lily and Claire were great! The kids rode on ponies and were guided by Lily. We tracked up to the top of the hill and down. The views were amazing. We also passed through some Stone Age ruins and the whole time, they talked about the land. It was just beautiful and I highly recommend. My kids can’t stop talking about the horses.

Myself and my daughter visited today and honestly it was an awful experience .
My daughters favourite thing in the world is horse riding but she left really upset . From the moment we arrived the owner was negative about where my daughter has had lessons , passing comments like ‘you won’t like our ponies if you have been taught to ride like that ‘ she was almost told off for telling a story about how a mean pony stopped in front of a jump and made her have her first fall , there was no kind, child friendly response , it was ‘ there are no naughty ponies , the pony probably had a bad back or you weren’t riding properly’
I could see my daughters excitement slowly disappear in the first 10 minutes - rather than a fun experience it was like a test which knocked my daughters confidence a lot . She was told so many times how it’s mean to kick ponies - we were open to this new natural way of riding which is why we went but it could have been explained to her in a way which didn’t make her feel bad about herself and the way she has been taught .
She was even told off for bending down to stroke a dog because she was in front of a stable - it was a fair point that the pony could kick open the door (unlikely but fair to say) but could have been said so much nicer . My daughter is so kind and caring to all animals but she wasn’t rewarded for this , just told off which was awful to watch - her little face looked so sad .
She was put on a pony which kept putting his head down to rub its leg which is fine but she was then told to stop tipping forward (even though she was pulled forward) , toward the end of the lesson part (we went for half lesson , half trek) her pony spooked and made her cry . She was put on another pony but this poor pony was having a hard time with flies and kept swishing his tail and stomping his hooves which after the spook scared her . She was brave and happy to do the trek part until the owner said ‘I hope you’re ready to go down some big hills’ which panicked my daughter and made her not want to do the trek . The owners daughter tried to reassure her and say they aren’t big hills , more like slopes but the damage was done - she was put off and I knew she wouldn’t do the rest of this experience but they then kept trying to push her to do it which she wouldn’t and then the owner was really rude when I asked for a partial refund for the trek part which we didn’t do . And honestly it was the owners way with my daughter that put her off and ruined this for us both . She eventually gave me a small part of my money back (not enough to be fair ) but was unbelievably rude to me in-front of my daughter . She is lucky my daughter was there because I kept my cool and was so polite which was not deserved .

This is not a child friendly place - do not bring children here and don’t waste your money . I would go for a trek anywhere over here !

Lovely and very experienced horse trainer's I had my 2 kids with special needs and they looked after us incredibly well, we were to go up the mountain trek but I was a bit uncomfortable with the size of the horses so I asked if we could just stay local and just give my kids an experience of riding the horse slowly. The horses are beautifully cared for and it shows, it's a little piece of heaven
