Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Semple Stadium is perhaps the premier hurling venue in Ireland an din a sense its spiritual home. The GAA was formed in Thurles in 1884 and the centenary All-Ireland Hurling Final was held here in 1984.
It is a lovely stadium with a fantastic atmosphere on big big championships days in high summer. it holds over 45,000 these days with 24,000 of it seated.
I remember gong to Semple a few times back in the 1990's for the Féile Music Festival which as far as I know was paying for much of the modernisation visible today. A period of renovation was completed in the late noughties too and the result is a fine stadium, considered second only to Croke Park in the GAA. It has floodlights too though I've never actually been to an evening game here.
I've been here a few times over the years and always enjoyed it. It has terracing behind the two goal ends and seated grandstands along the sidelines of the pitch. I think I've been in every section over the years and you always get a good view.
It's a bit out of the town centre but easily walkable in fairness and there is plenty of parking, though not immediately outside.
If you are anywhere near the area on a big match day you should definitely take in a game, even if it is a smaller club match, the stadium is so rich in history and tradition that you should call in. Tipperary are one of the most successful hurling counties in terms of senior championship wins. The people love their hurtling and I 'd be amazed if you didn't enjoy a visit to Semple.
