The Chhatris Cenotaphs are around 1.5 kms from the Fort. There are 15 Chhatris totally in Orchha. Majorly, there are 5 massive Chhatris in this premises by the Betwa river. There are definitely wonderful to see and lets you give a wow factor. The Chhatris are on elevated platforms and has beautifully architect-ed arches. We spent around 20-30 minutes here... More

24 July, 2016. The tickets to this complex can be obtained from the main attraction at Orchha, the Orchha Palace, which starts with the gate outside the Raja Mahal. The cenotaphs of the Bundela rulers of the place (Chhatris) are located directly beside the Betwa river, on the Kanchana Ghat. There are fourteen of these impressive structures, each constructed over... More

We stumbled across this site on a lunch break in 44 degree heat but exploring it was worth the walk. Do pay the small entrance fee to explore from the central courtyard.

I had seen many pictures of Cenotaphs in Orchha. But when I went there they look exactly same as in many photos available online. Fabulous location on the banks of Betwa river, these cenotaphs is a fantastic example of fine Hindu architecture. They look more beautiful from the opposite side of the river. One must not miss visit and they... More

Very unusual place with just a few empty chattris. these are like covered verandas with openings on all sides. Make a very nice backdrop for a few pictures. The plaques for all chattris read the same... so somebody is not doing their job well :). The gardens around the chattris are also unkempt. Saw a few vultures on the goomties.... More

These are tombs of the Bundela rulers of Orchha, 14 of them along the banks of river Betwa. Majestic structures among very well maintained garden. Seems to be an abode for vultures these days as you can see them nesting up in the terraces. Sunset at the backdrop of th Chattris is very beautiful.

The cenotaphs or the chhattris of the kings of Orchha on the banks of river Betwa look majestic & magnificent. The best time to visit them is around sunset when they bask in the golden glow of the setting sun. Enjoy the pics.

These memorials of death are quite beautiful in their way - especially the unfinished one, which looks like modern architecture. The vultures wheeling above and landing on the spires are especially affecting but the view down to the lovely river is full of life and colour.
