The light and sound show at night was really good. The fort is also nice but little tiresome for young children. One should take a guide who explains things and stories in more interesting manner. Worth visiting...

There is some climbing involved but once you get up the first set of stairs you can opt to stay on that level Going up two more flights offers great views of the countryside. This fort is not as well maintained as some others but it is a fine example of 16th and 17th century living.

Orchha fort is a wonder. The fort is one of the most beautiful fortresses in India. Not as big as the Amber fort and not on a hill like the Jodhpur fort, but on an island like Manhattan. Right in the middle of the Betwa river surrounded by water and green pastures. Truely a majestic sight.

Dont miss the murals on the ceilings... they are amazing. Also, try and go to the ruins behind the fort. They tell a different tale, needless to mention a flower that grows wild and abundantly on the grounds near the ruins behind the fort.

Orchha Fort is quite large and basically consists of 3 palaces and is located on the Betwa River. The fort is in need of a little TLC and is quite plain looking except for 2 elaborate ceilings. Nevertheless, it is still very much a must do in Orchha. Don't forget to climb the extra 2 levels for 360 degree view... More

Definitely come and have a walk around if you are in Orchha. The fort is much larger than we first thought. Lovely old interesting buildings.

ASI should takeover the maintenance from State Government - as they are really incompetent. Growing brush on the walls of Rajmahal is proof of that.
