Depending on the season one can see the bears after 4PM onwards. During summer Bears will come down after 5PM onwards. In order to improve tourism around the Hampi Forest department... More

Daroji is around 25 kms from Hampi and it's definitely worth a visit while you are there. You are assured of a sloth bear 🐻 sighting since the forest guards ensure that they keep some snacks at some key places where the bears would come out to eat them. Otherwise the sighting chances might be very bleak in this huge... More

Stayed at Hampi Heritage & Wilderness Resort for 4 days and three nights. The package included a safari trip into Daroji reserve and I took the opportunity to get in some birding during the drive. Our driver, J Venkatesh was very knowledgeable about the history, environment, mammals and bird life in the reserve and I was able to photograph and... More

The Daroji Bear Sanctuary is quite a long way out of Hampi. According to what we were told, the bears are 'fed' (ie honey is laid out for them) at about 4.30pm each day, which is your best chance of seeing them. The sanctuary reminded me of small game reserves in South Africa. You take your vehicle to an area... More

We enjoyed the visit at Daroji Bear Sanctuary. We saw a Sloth bear and a couple of other different mammals and birds in a beautiful landscape. Many people can't understand that a sanctuary is no zoo so they get mad when they do not see a special animal. You have the joice: See real wildlife with the possibility to watch... More

The area is sprawling. There is good watch tower. Need binoculars to see the bears. One can see many peacocks, 1 wild boar and many monkeys as well. The bears are fed between 3-5. We went at 3. could see bears after 4. Auto Roughly costs 500 to and fro Hampi.

It takes a good hour to drive here from Hampi and the roads aren't great. Some guides say they feed the bears at 5.30 but this seems to happen much earlier in the day. We went late but were lucky enough to see half a dozen bears from the viewpoint but at a considerable distance. There's a substantial climb up... More

This sanctuary is 30-45 minutes from Hampi and the last mile access road is not that great. This should not be high on your priority list as it might disappoint many. If you have visited all the major ruins of Hampi, then you can contemplate your visit here. - Visiting time is from 2-5pm. The sanctuary will be open till... More

A short drive away from the city, it's a nice place to see bears in natural surrounding. Honey is spread out on certain strategic points for the bear feeding. Visitors are allowed till a look out point from where they can view the Bears if they are in luck. We waited for quite some time and were going to leave... More

I went to the sanctuary from Hampi JLR heritage resort. The guides are very knowledgeable and friendly. I was lucky to spot a bear there. This place is entirely different from other south Indian jungles. A must visit.
