This a protected archeological monument well preserved by taking care to avoid vehicular traffic within 2 kilometres to avoid vibrations and damage to the beautiful monument

Well maintained with complete end to end service with a guide is a suitable option to know the history behind the huge Vijayanagara empire. Its a must visit with many spots to cover close to this entire temple complex.

yes local guides are available on nominal charge, if you hire one guide for full day he will take accompany at all sights.
