Petra world heritage site is absolutely amazing, no matter how much research you have done you will still be blown away by what you see. The caves, used as tombs, churches, homes and shelter for animals, have been hewn out of the rock and are...More

Furchtbare Tierquälerei und aufdringliche Leute, die einen abzocken wollen! Dies sollte auf keinen Fall unterstützt werden. Weitere Infos weiter unten in Englisch.

This site is fabulous, very busy & about a 4 mile round trip walk lots of it in shade. Sadly the whole visit was marred by the dreadful treatment of all animals at the site. Horses were being whipped, the ground was slippery, they were...More

There is a restaurant midway once you walk past the treasury. Toilet is located there. There are no other toilets on the way. You can get lunch there for a reasonable price. Maybe 20 Jordanian dinar or so.. I don't remember... More

If the cost includes transport to and from Petra, and the entrance fee, it is not that bad for the convenience. It is about 2 hours driving time from Aqaba to Petra, and the cost of the entrance fee is 50jd or about 55£ per person. So unless you have a larger group than 2 or so, you'd be hard pressed to do it much cheaper with a taxi.
