Next to the treasury this is the most impressive facade. Less visited, come early before it gets hot and when you have trail to yourself. The sheer massive size will blow you away. The view from both nearby lookouts are worth the extra walk. Cafe...More

This is another of the many amazing structures which make up Petra and should not be missed. Allow at least half a day to take in them all

The monastery is astounding. It's a long climb up - by mostly easy steps - but well worth it. Similar style to the Treasury but vastly different location. Wear good trainers / walking shoes. Amazing views from the top.

It took us 40 minutes to walk up to the Monastery from the bottom, but what a view from the top. Reasonably uncrowded. Wear sensible footwear.

After a day of walking and climbing, taking a donkey was well worth it. There are still some steps to get the top, but not 900!. Also, there are views to be seen which require more climbing, some of it rather difficult, but worth it.

The hike is definitely tough and takes a couple hours from the entrance, but the Monastery is extremely stunning, way bigger than the Treasury and there is an awesome local coffee stand where you can sit outside, smoke s shisha, drink a local coffee and...More
