From the lower entrance there is level access, if bumpy, to the church entrance. There are then steps to get inside. With sticks I navigated the steps. An oasis of calm. Beautiful brass chandeliers, wall paintings and an altar wall of icons.

Called in on the last day its a nice old church with some good paneling and benches - not usually my thing but worth a look when visiting the old town

People at this church did not welcome us as we were Muslims. They gave us dirty looks and kept staring at us shaking their head. We did not feel welcomed at all. No smiles whatsoever

Situated on Pirin Street inside a walled type garden this church stands proud for everyone to see. Built in the 19th Century, it has beautiful architecture and many paintings all over the walls. Very impressive with its bell tower chiming every hour, its a must see.
