The lake is a constant 80 degrees F and crystal clear, very pleasant for swimming. There are lots of areas for camping, but the lake itself is big enough that it wasn't too crowded. Lots of scuba training there, and easy diving. Not a whole lot to see, but there is a nice little tunnel and some petrified trees.

This lagoon fullfilled with volcanic waters, is the entrance to the San Luis's Huasteca, in this warm lake you can swin and scuba dive too, just be careful with the inner tides, they can push you to the borders of the lake.

This effervescent lake is one of my favorite all time places to visit. The water is warm year round and like swimming in alka seltzer. Bubbly and gorgeous! The surrounding pines are beautiful and peaceful. Take your own blow up raft or rent an inner tube from one of the vendors. Pack a picnic or have a taco from one... More

This spot is really beautiful with warm water, nice views and close contact with nature. It's better to visit during a weekday avoiding weekends and holidays, then you have opportunity to enjoy the place.

I read a lot of comments of people saying it's just another water park, I found it to be much more. It's true that its not a secluded piece of forest where you can get lost and be alone with nature, there will be people here and it can get really packed in peak season, but at the end of... More

I went to the Laguna de la Media Luna at the end of July-early August. It is a natural reserve with its birds, turtles and fish. There are many camping and BBQ spots in proximity to the lagoon. The visibility in there is amazing, especially early in the morning. There are also half a dozen restaurants, public toilets & showers... More

I have been traveling to Media Luna for over 17 years. Today, on the weekends, there may be thousands of visitors, far too many for the maintenance of a heathy ecosystem. The scuba diving is still nice but much different than previous times. Much of the aquatic vegetation has been destroyed but has a chance to recover if swimming was... More
