We were very lucky to have visited a few days before the earthquake. This area is very quite large and it's difficult to decide what to see, where to go and whom to trust. Definitely need transportation here. We were extremely fortunate to have an outstanding personal guide, Win, who spoke very good English and intuitively understood exactly what we... More

Spent the day riding around hundreds of temples. Was a big day but 1 day is enough. So many temples. Easy to become tired of them. But they are very interesting.

Since the moment I've seen the picture of sunset over Bagan, I ran out of words. Like coming from another world. I'm not sure that you guys know Avatar Hallelujah Mountain in China. Both look so unreal. I came here in the end of October, it was a big luck for me as the weather wasn't bad. I was worried... More

A remarkable spot with an extraordinary concentration of temples. A bicycle was enough despite all of the motorbikes. It was full moon day so the roads were full of crowded vehicles yet it seemed to flow well.

Over 4000 derelict temples. This is a must see. Hire bikes to get around as they are some distance apart and you get to temples that aren't overrun by tours. Go for sunrise, the hot air balloons floating when the sun comes up is just spectacular. We asked our hotel who recommended a temple that wasn't too busy but had... More

One of the most amazing places we have ever visited! Still not too ruined by tourism so it's easy to find temples to be alone in. Go for the smaller ones next to the biggest. :)

I had seen photos of the balloons over Bagan and knew I had to visit. The temples did not disappoint. Getting around on an ebike really is the best way to get go. They are almost silent so you can enjoy the ambience of the area and take in the history. The temples are quite spread out on gravel /... More

I have never seen anything like this in my life. Thousands of pagodas of all sizes. You will need to pay Kyat25,000 per foreign traveller at the airport to enter Bagan. Take your time exploring these amazing buildings built between the 11th and 13th centuries ! Get up early and either take a hot air balloon flight, or just watch... More
