Another modern train station ,the same as others from KL ,but a little tedious if you take the stairs ,no clear signs getting out but it's a void policy to follow the crowd

Poor signages, not clearly located where it should be. The designers of this hub did not take into account of the aged or advanced age people. Watch your steps. Many bottlenecks in the areas. Watchout for the buses that don't care about the pedestrians. Watch...More

Malaysia is very obviously focusing a great deal on establishing a both very efficient and high speed electrical rail system (which it has already made considerable gains towards). Butterworth Railway Station is a result of this, starting from humble beginnings, having been transformed and rebuilt...More

1) Any suggestion for "SEAT" in Platinum EST train from Butterworth to KL? 2) I'm planning for 18th May, should I buy tickets earlier? or is it okay to book 1/2 days before? 3) which sim card is best for Internet? Should I buy it from KL or Langkawi?

Hi Sadia A A window seat on either side of the carriage offers great views (as they flash by). However, I would probably favor the right side. Buying a ticket 1-2 days should be fine. Trying to book earlier (I presume you... More

I would like to take the 6:10 AM train from Butterworth to KL. My query is - 1) Would there be any ferries plying from Georgetown that early for me to reach the station on time. 2) Do they have a particular platform on which the 6:10 train arrives. If so where can I get an info on it? 3) How early should i leave the hotel (Holiday Inn, Batu Ferringhi) to make it on time? 4) Alternatively how do i get there on time, a little apprehensive about the entire travel as would be travelling with two kids. Need to be on time in KL for a meeting and train looks way cheaper than flight!!

The Butterworth to Bangkok train has been stopped for a few months now is this permanent? If going to bangkok, is it easier to take butterworth train to Pedang Besar > Bangkok or Pedang Besar > Hat Yai > Bangkok? Or take minivan from Chulia St to Hat Yai, then either take another bus to Bangkok or take train?
