I went with a group to the town. It was a cute town, but it is geared for tourists since it is very commercial. Tourists can take pictures with people dressed in costumes, too. The shop owners will bargain with you. I don't recall eating there, so I can't tell you if the food is good or not, but there... More

An ancient Chinese town that has undergone significant development over the past five years. Highlights include hiking the wall and trying the local snacks such as chili pepper dry fried in chicken oil or tofu balls with vinegar.

Wow. What a wonderful Chinese Ancient Town. The whole town is beautiful. It's fantastically restored. Amazing! Would give it 5 stars but I am keeping one for 3 reasons: - No Taxis available anywhere. A tourist place like this should have an official taxi rank with a person who speaks English and can help tourists get into a safe Taxi... More

Spent the morning with colleagues here and we loved every minute of it. The history in this ancient town is so interesting, but you can also satisfy your interest in shopping as well. Found some nice quality gifts for family back home, and the vendors are not pushy like in other tourist locales around the country. Some people have written... More

This is a place with ancient architecture but being turned into a shopping town. The best goods sold is the food there.

This ancient town convenient to Guiyang offers interesting views from its highest point and lots of opportunities for shopping. The visitor's center doesn't offer much in the way of information in languages other than English, so be sure to do your homework before arriving. The goods in the shops are repetitive and reasonably-priced: from food and bamboo products to clothing... More

We loved visiting Qingyan more than Pingyao. You can still feel and sense the atmosphere and architecture of an old town and not get overwhelmed by tourists shops. Highly recommended.

Guizhou minority old town architecture. Is a bit commercialized with most of the buildings converted to shops. Ticket are cheap for normal visit at ¥10 only. Nice view from the top of the fort.

Good site to visit whilst in Guiyang. It is a bustling village but highly commercial. The sweet food stalls are really exceptional and the setting of the village is very authentic. Lots of great food stores and chinese cafes along the way but wear a comfortable pair of shoes for the smooth stones along the village

The town is nice. No cars, and it is funny to walk the maze like streets. But the shops destroys much, after 50 meters they start repeating, not selling anything I find interesting. But the food is good. Specially the porkfeet.
