You will need a car, but this is a roadtrip worth making. 2 hours from Agadir and it feels like you're in another country altogether. Beautiful scenery, huge skies, great landscapes.

We spent two nights in this very beautiful and untouristy gorge. There is only one place to stay Auberge Ait Mansour Hanane. See my review. Plus a good little shop/cafe which offers couscous

We parked our car near a restaurant in the shadow and walked down the (tarmac) road for a while. The setting is peaceful with the small river and the palmtrees. After a while you pass a small shop with a garden: nice stop for coffee...More

Good dive to take in some different scenery. Winding roads with lush greenery and date palms. The different layers in the mountains where it's been heaved up are interesting. We were lucky to get an invite to tea with a nomad. Fun 1/2 day

We were welcomed at the foot of the auberge by M. Abdou, who explained the geography of the place. He also makes a terrific omelette which he has developed in his own style.

I thoroughly enjoyed our drive through the valley d'Ait Mansour. The views are spectacular with initially wide ranging vista's of stunning rock/gorge scenery leading to a beautiful oasis with lush palm trees and greeneary. Simply stunning!

Well worth the day trip, provided you have use of a car (but be prepared to pay a small tip to the lady who minds it while you go walkabout). The palm grove and surrounding villages are beautiful.

Would recommend the best way to see Ait Mansour Gorge is either by cycle or by foot, the tracks are very impressive and a wonderful way to while away a few hours. You can bump into local goat herders and see many different types of...More
