Colorado Hill Trekking Tour from San Martin de los Andes

Scale the mighty 5,833-foot (1,778-meter) peak of Cerro Colorado on a thrilling full-day hike from San Martin de Los Andes. With a maximum of 12 people, enjoy personal attention from your expert guide, who points out the unique plants and rock formations of the now-extinct volcano as you wind your way to the top. After a moderate hike, arrive at the summit and tuck into your packed lunch (not provided) with magnificent views of the surrounding Andes, Lácar and Lolog lakes, and the Chile-Argentina border.

If you want to add a new experience to your trip to Patagonia (Argentina), try crossing the Andes! Going from Argentina to Chile (or vice versa) is a great experience in itself. From San Martín de los Andes there are 185 km to a similar town on the other side of the Andes, Pucón. Both towns share some similarities, but the landscape when crossing is incredible (although it was raining when we did it) You can see the Andes and the beautiful vegetation, Araucarias are my favourite trees! The only drawback is that you have to get up early and try to be at the border when it opens (at 9 a.m) so that you can do everything in a day. Getting from SMA to Pucón takes about 3 hours. The road is quite good, only 25 km of the Lanin National Park are not paved. You can also find some interesting shopping and restaurants in Pucón!
