Not to be missed

Uniquely interesting to visit as the church has no metal nails in its construction. The graveyard is a fascinating look into the past.

Beautiful Church and a very moving churchyard
Feb 2020 • Couples
A beautiful church with magnificent marble pillars. A very beautiful and moving statue of the two young girls of the castles family who were drowned in the estates frozen lake. But maybe the most interesting and moving of all is the story the graveyard tells especially of young Canadian men and boys who died during and immediately after WW1. As a nurse myself the grave of the nursing sister was extremely poignant to me. We visited early on a Monday morning and had it all to ourselves. Really thought provoking.

The church is very interesting and the grounds have a tribute to Canadian forces who died of a Flu Epidemic in the war.

A must visit place
Sep 2019
This church of St Margaret, locally known as the marble church is well worth a visit. It contains some lovely stIned glass windows and you can visit the bell tower..about 50 stone winding steps up.
Also you must see the graveyard as it contains about fifty war memorials of Canadian soldiers from the First World War who died locally with Spanish Flu.
