Pretty scenery, easy walikng

A pretty valley, with a stream and gentle walks. It's very popular, so can get rather crowded at busy times like bank holidays. Good National Trust shop and restaurant

We did the National Trust "hard walk " from Carding Valley and whilst we were lucky with the weather ( and the added interest of new born lambs ) we all , including initially reluctant 12 and 10 year olds. throughly enjoyed the walk and the views.

This was a great place to visit and you could easily spend a whole day there. Great for walking and photography. It is a great place to spend walking, taking in some stunning views and, for children, playing in the river.

Such a beautiful walk down Ashes Hollow and back to Carding Mill Valley. Then caught the shuttle bus back up to Shooting Box where we'd left the car. Was very glad to leave the drive up the Bur Way to Mervyn the driver as someone had tried to tow a caravan up onto the Long Mynd - it was carnage!

This was a real gem of a find after dropping my daughter off at Pony Camp nearby. I had never been to this area before and was really pleasantly surprised. I wish I could have spent more time here. I can imagine it would be really difficult with the narrow roads in the height of the season but the early... More

This is a National Trust run place predominantly. Fabulous place for all ages lovely walks etc lovely streams for the children & a nice place to sit / relax. Although, there is a good National Trust cafe for food ice cream & a shop within the valley. It can get very busy where parking can be problematic but there is... More

Lovely valley. Becoming too commercialised and crowded, victim of over advertising . National Trust cafe is excellent. Loos fine. Parking can be difficult, and sometimes impossible on Bank Holidays, or Weekends in good weather.

This place is utterly beautiful - with breathtaking sheer hills and crags and outcrops of rocks, raucous streams running clear over pebbles, and sheep and lambs wandering freely. There is something for everyone - families were picnicking and children playing on the flat by the streams which were shallow and safe, or there are different levels of walk for you... More

Popped in to sample the delights of the tearoom whilst stopping in the local area. Had a short wander around the lower area of the valley, beautiful countryside, clean and tidy. Will definitely go back

Even if you don't climb up the valley it is a good place for a quick stroll. Free car parking but be aware the top car park is gated and locked in the late afternoon so check what time it shuts. A variety of walks alongside streams and up to a small waterfall are available
