An enjoyable trip down memory lane
Sep 2021
What a hidden little gem this museum is. If you’re ‘of an age’ to remember seeing Isettas or Messerschmitts on the road then you’ll recognise many of these quirky little motors. Not just the cars but a host of period memorabilia on display too. It is bound to have you saying “Oh, we had one of those” or “My mum used to have a **** just like that”.
I believe it’s all run by volunteers which might explain the one minor niggle which is that some of the displays haven’t seen a duster for many years.
That said, don’t let that put you off visiting. It’s a lovely way to spend an hour or two for a very respectable entrance fee.

A very enjoyable visit, not just cars but room sets full of nostalgia of how we used to live. A nice little cafe to round off your visit.

Nostalgia and not just the cars.

Really enjoyable visit. We loved all the bubblecars and other assorted transport memorabilia. A lovely display. The social history rooms were really interesting too - many memories from my childhood.
The cafe provided a limited menu but the food was delightful and fresh. The pickles were outstanding.
A lovely afternoon. Thank you!

Excellent couple of hours visit. Fascinating.

Nicely finished with a slice of homemade parsnip and Apple cake and caramel cake and a cuppa.

Thoroughly recommend stopping if in the area

A fantastic experience for everyone

Visited this attraction and had a good look around all the exhibits. Plenty of cars and motorbikes to see and photograph. The guide for sale is worth every penny as it’s full of useful information about the exhibits. The cafe area was clean, the food was lovely and presented professionally to table. This is one place every nostalgia car fan would enjoy looking round and chatting about the old times.

A trip down memory lane
Jun 2021
A wonderful museum, not only has bubblecars but also plenty of items from the past that we would all remember. Well laid out and very interesting, even if cars is not your thing. Good value for money as was the coffee and cake we had before leaving. A definite place not to be missed, would thoroughly recommend.

Disappointed lunch guest
Jun 2021 • Couples
Trip to the museum was part of my husband's birthday celebrations as he is very interested in cars of all sorts. The museum itself is really very good, with a lot of exhibits. The mock up of shops and typical living conditions was also interesting. However the tea room was very disappointing, the lady who served us has a lot to learn about customer service. She was verging on rude and the only option for lunch was a very unappetising ploughman's lunch. It was served in a most ungracious manner, the cutlery was not very clean, and as for the small jar containing the chutney I can only describe it as disgusting. I may visit the museum again but will be eating elsewhere first!

A surprising trip down memory lane.

This is a really good insight into "micro cars" and sits in a niche market but one that is very different to your typical transport museum as it concentrates on all things small. I was surprised by the variety and quantity of these micro cars and although I did not spend a great deal of time here I was thoroughly entertained. It also displays many 50's and 60's items like furniture, household items and radios which as an old bugger I remember from my youth. Really enjoyable interlude and well worth your time to visit.

A unique car museum
Oct 2020
An interesting and unique car museum which is worth visiting even from London for a day out. I've always been fascinated by small cars and bubble cars are the epitome of small car design. The museum is small but is packed with a variety of models from the 50s to the 80s. Some of the cars are featured in period dioramas which takes you back in time.

The museum has a small shop and cafe, the food menu is rather limited but I had delicious home made soup served with bread and cheese which was great value. There is a small picnic area where families can bring their own food outside if they wish. The staff were friendly and the admission fee was very reasonable. I would certainly recommend it for car enthusaists and families alike.
