If you love wildlife, then this is THE place to go. When you see Bass Rock from the shore for the first time, you might think it's covered in snow. It's not! it's the 150,000 gannets that are on the island. We took a boat...More

Bass Rock supports a fantastic colony of gannets. There are thousands of birds on every rocky ledge and it has to be a bird watchers paradise. With the weather favourable,we set off for the island with an early start. The crew of the boat that...More

I went on an organised boat trip to Bass Rock this morning and despite the fact that it wet, the views we had close up of the gannets were fantastic. The rock is apparently covered with about150,000 gannets.

Place to watch gannets in there thousands. Either from North Berwick or at Tantallon Castle. There are boat trips from North Berwick but sea can be rough and boats are rather small, not for reluctant sailors.

Went on a boat trip with the Seabird Centre. Stunning (and a bit intimidating) to be surrounded by tens of thousands of gannets. Got some great photos. Take some tissues in case you get splattered!

I was drawn to this rock in so many ways. Seeing the gannets and terns was a delight to me! We caught a glimpse of a grey seal combing the nearby rock. There is no way that a camera can capture this rock, the wildlife...More
