Maybe the busloads of japanese visitors like this kind of souvenir shops, in my opinion there are so many other ways to sell souvenirs. These shops are a shame for the region that has so many beautiful and impressive things to offer.

The building was a former convent and today houses an art and craft shop that includes a permanent exhibit of a volcanic sand carpet. Great museum!
