The close encounter with Dolphins and whales in Tenerife There are 28 species of Whales and Dolphins that either reside in or pass through Canarian waters. Pilot Whales and Bottlenose Dolphins are resident to the waters off the South West coast of Tenerife and enable the whale watching industry to all but guarantee sightings. Rough Toothed dolphins used to be resident nearer La Gomera before the fast ferries arrived and were frequently seen; they have now moved further around the island. Sperm whales reside between Tenerife and Gran Canaria.

Booked the 2 hour cruise, would recommend making own way instead of getting collected by bus if you are able to walk to port. Cruise wasn't so busy - not sure how enjoyable it would be on full cruise. Enjoyable sale, saw whales and dolphins....More

Thank you for your comments. The transfer time from Puerto de la Cruz is a bit long, but there is not much to do about it. We are happy that you thought it was worth the effort. The tea problem will be looked into. Not...More

Nice trip we saw lots of dolphins and several whales. Drinks are reasonably priced on board. The only downside was the hard sell on photographs. I politely declined the photograph when we boarded only to be told 'Everybody HAS to have a picture' I again...More

Took the 4.5 hour tour today. Fab day out. Saw whales and dolphins close up. Amazing!!! Food good. Crew warm and friendly. Used the bus pick up from a place near our hotel. No issues. Highly recommend this trip for all ages 😊

You can sunbathe on the Royal. People seated at the front and on the top deck are in the open air. For shade there is seating interior on the main deck.
